Honeybee

The time has come, Honeybees! 🫶🏼

It is officially the end of the school year! We are so grateful for all the love, laughter, and growth that came our way. Every year, we get the privilege to care for your children and witness their new life experiences. This is something that we hold near and dear to our hearts; we are honored that you entrust our Honeybee team with this responsibility. As this school year comes to a close, we would like to make sure our transitions into the summer and upcoming school year are smooth.

On the last day of school, please bring a large tote bag so we are able to pack and send home all of your children’s belongings. If you are returning for the summer program, this gives you an opportunity to switch out any seasonal clothes, to give everything a good wash, or to label them with names! Please return items on the first day of school upon arrival. 🙂

If you would like your child to use items like sunscreen or bug spray, please remember to apply before drop-off OR sign a topical consent form for us to apply at school. These forms can be picked up at the front desk. This will be helpful especially during the hot summer!

Upcoming Events:

May 25 – Half day for all students

May 26-30 – School closed, teacher in-service

May 31 – First day of Summer

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Susan@creoschool.org or Nido@creoschool.org

With all our love,

Ms. Susan, Ms. Maria, Ms. Roseanna

Butterfly

We are at the end of the school year, once again! Thank you every one of you for your patience and willingness to help me shape your children to be more independent. I hope you have seen even the slightest bit of change, not just within your child, but also within you. It is not easy to unlearn the habits we have grown to know all our lives, especially if you did not grow up with a Montessori mindset. Little by little we are molding ourselves to think in a different manner for the better of our children. I hope we continue to see each other around campus if your child is moving up and see you next year to prepare your child for the next level. This will be my 8th year serving as a Creo guide and I am continually learning to change myself and learn from each child, as no child is the same. We can compare and average out children but I am constantly reminded that each child grows at their own pace. Each child has their own period of sensitivity that comes to fruition at different stages and for different lengths of time all stages of development. For this, I am grateful you have had the patience for me to best serve your child.

With so much love,

Ms. Rebeca and Ms. Yohanna

Hummingbird

Dear Hummingbird Parents,

We can hardly believe that another school year is coming to a close! It has been an incredible journey filled with growth, learning, and cherished memories. As we reflect on the past months, we are immensely inspired by the progress each child has made in our environment. Their increased independence, resilience, and enthusiasm have truly shone through.

Throughout the year, we have witnessed remarkable growth in all areas of development. Their curiosity has been a joy to nurture, and it's inspiring to see them explore their interests and expand their horizons. We have also witnessed significant strides in the development of social and emotional skills. The children have become more adept at expressing their thoughts and emotions, resolving conflicts peacefully, and working collaboratively. It is heartwarming to see the friendships that have blossomed in Hummingbirds, as well as the kindness and empathy they show towards one another.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all parents and guardians for your unwavering support throughout the year. Your involvement, whether through volunteering, attending parent-teacher conferences, or simply being there to lend support to your child, has been invaluable in creating a strong partnership between home and school. Together, we have nurtured an environment where your children can thrive.

As we embark on the Summer break, we encourage you to continue fostering your child's growth and independence. Engage in meaningful conversations, embark on adventures together, and create cherished memories. It is during these months that children often experience tremendous personal growth and develop new interests. I will include a link with some ideas to help get you started! We hope you have a fantastic Summer filled with love, laughter, and boundless joy.

Squirrel

Hello Squirrel families!

As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye, we have come to another end of a beautiful school year. Thank you for trusting us every day and letting us be part of your child’s development. Our toddler environment is a remarkably busy place filled with lots of opportunities to develop independence, patience, and motor skills along with other things through our material!

One area we work on every day is grace and courtesy. There is no specific material to show grace and courtesy but through modeling. We model lots of grace and courtesy every day when we greet them, how we carry items in the classroom, place things back where they belong, covering our face when sneezing and coughing, and waiting for our turn are a few ways we model grace and courtesy in the toddler environment.

When we express “please” and “thank you” we model it after the child has given us a response. For example, when we serve the children water, we ask “Emery would you like some water?” wait for a response and then we repeat their answer with a “please” at the end instead of correcting the child or forcing them to say please. After we have served the water we say, “Thank you Ms. Nadia” and usually they repeat on their own. This is a natural way for them to learn as they absorb the language and with time they will begin to say “please” and “thank you” on their own.

Grace and courtesy support the child’s desire to adapt to their environment and feel part of their society. Through grace and courtesy, the children will create a harmonious and peaceful environment where they can be gracious and treat others with respect. This is all done through modeling as they are in the stage of absorbing everything around them, how we treat others, how we talk to each other and our behavior.

“Children like to learn all the courtesies of social life. If one teaches them, they are interested to know how to greet, how to excuse themselves when they pass in front of other people etc.”

Maria Montessori, Citizen of the World, p. 35

Thank You all for a great school year! Have a lovely summer 🌼🌞

Warmly,

Ms. Nadia and Ms. Alexis
