Peek Inside our Children’s House Community

Dear Wonderful Bobcat Families,

Dear Bobcat Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and are starting the new year feeling well-rested. I want to thank everyone for the kindness and generosity shared with us over the holidays; we truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

We would also like to officially welcome Laurel to the Bobcat Children's House!

Grace and Courtesy Lessons:  This month, we have been reinforcing lessons on hygiene, specifically how to blow one's nose. Additionally, we are working with the boys on properly using the toilet and ensuring it is left clean for the next person. We invite you to help your child practice these lessons at home as well.

Health Note: As the mornings become colder, we kindly ask that you keep your child at home if they are not feeling well or have a continuous cough.

Song: During Circle Time, we introduced a song called "Two Little Blackbirds" by Music Together. It is a lovely finger-play song that allows the children to get creative by adding their own adjectives to the lyrics.

Books & Literacy: It is wonderful to see how much the children’s love for our post-lunch reading time has grown over the months. While we rotate our library books weekly, we always love it when a child brings a special book from home to share with the class.

Recently, Freddy brought in a lovely book titled “When the Air Sang” by Laura Bontje, illustrated by Sarah Whang. This beautiful story explains the life cycle of a cicada and reminds us that curiosity about nature never truly goes away.

Reminders about Jackets: Please remember to take your child's jacket home every day. Our coat rack is quite small, and with 25 children in the classroom, we need to keep the space clear…and don’t forget to label it with your child’s name

Dear Cactus Wren Families,

Happy New Year to everyone! It has been an amazing first month back in the classroom. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the new families joining us this semester. It has been such a joy getting to know your children and to have your families as part of our Cactus Wren community.

This past month, the children have been practicing their listening skills by singing songs and identifying words in Spanish, as well as by listening to different stories read or told by a teacher or a friend. They have also enjoyed observing the weather, especially since we experienced a few rainy days—which is always exciting here in Arizona! In addition, we have been learning about the different seasons of the year and what makes each one special. Our favorite song this month was “Ya lloviendo está” by CANTARE.

Thank you, families, for a wonderful start to the new year. We are so excited to see all the new learning, experiences, and growth your children will have during the spring semester!

Warmly,
Joselyne and Luisana

Dear Gray Fox Families,

HELLO GRAY FOX FAMILIES,

Hello Gray Fox Families,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to 2026. January has been a fun and active month in the Gray Fox classroom, and I’m happy to share some highlights with you. We are excited to welcome Olivia to our classroom. The children have been kind and welcoming, helping our new friends settle in and feel at home.

This month, our classroom was full of excitement as we explored the theme of animals. The children enjoyed learning about both pets and wild animals. A special addition to our museum table was parts of a blue whale, which quickly became a favorite area for observation and discussion.

Our baking activity was a big success! The children loved making cheddar cheese biscuits, from mixing the ingredients to shaping the dough and baking. Everyone enjoyed tasting the warm biscuits together.

Cheddar Cheese Biscuit Recipe (Very Simple):

Flour, baking powder, milk, butter, and shredded cheddar cheese — mixed, shaped, baked, and enjoyed!

As the weather has become cooler, we have been focusing on handwashing and hygiene, helping the children understand how to take care of their bodies and stay healthy. January was also filled with joyful

Sun Celebrations and birthday smiles. Happy birthday to all our January friends!

Thank you for being part of our Gray Fox family. I look forward to another wonderful month of learning and growth together.

Warmly,

Ms. Rama, Ms, Silvia

Hello Jackrabbit Families,

We hope everyone had a happy and restful winter break. The children came back eager to work, practice and receive new lessons. It is so beautiful to witness an explosion of works in the environment. The children were excited to write using the moveable alphabets about their winter break. The leaders of the classroom take the younger children under their wings. We often see a 5 or 6 year old preparing snack or giving a lesson to a 3 or 4 year old. The way they guide them is truly a pleasure to observe.  Before lunch, we say a poem in Spanish and in English. Here is the poem if you would like to say it at home before dinner.

Gracias por los árboles,

Gracias por el sol,

Gracias por mi comida,

Gracias por mi.

 Buen provecho pueden comer.

Thank you for the trees,

Thank you for the sun,

Thank you for my food,

Thank you for me.

We wish you all a very happy new year, thank you parents for your constant support, with much love and gratitude,

 Ms. Yadira and Ms. Karen
