February 2026
Peek Inside our Children’s House Community
Dear Wonderful Bobcat Families,
Dear Bobcat Families,
We have officially entered February, and our focus this month is on the virtue of patience. While waiting is naturally challenging at this age, it is a vital skill we cultivate early on. We are guiding the children to understand how to wait for their turn and how to wait for others to finish speaking before contributing their own thoughts.
Exploring the Great Outdoors
Our nature walks have been a highlight for the children in the second work cycle. These walks provide a beautiful opportunity to:
Connect with nature by listening to birds and smelling the local flora.
Engage the senses through games like "I Spy" and nature seek-and-find.
Find stillness through outdoor yoga, meditation, and reading books in the fresh air.
Health Note: To keep our community healthy, please keep your child home if they are feeling unwell or have a continuous cough.
Music & Literacy
In Song: During Circle Time, the children have been enjoying "Colors" by Frank Leto. This catchy song is a classroom favorite that helps with color recognition.
In Literature: A few weeks ago, Mia shared Maddi’s Fridge by Lois Brandt and Vin Vogel. This moving story introduces themes of poverty with sensitivity, teaching our students about friendship, empathy, and the importance of helping others.
Important Reminders
Punctuality Matters: Class begins promptly at 8:30 A.M. Arriving on time allows your child to enjoy the full work cycle and prevents disruptions for the rest of the class.
Dress Code: Please ensure your child wears their Creo uniform daily. Comfortable clothing and shoes that follows the dress code ensures your child can move freely and engage fully in all activities.
Friday "Show and Share": This is an optional activity for children to share a meaningful object. We encourage items related to nature or a personal experience. Please, no toys.
Dear Cactus Wren Families,
It has been a wonderful month in our Cactus Wren family. We have continued caring for our garden and were excited to harvest several vegetables, including tomatoes, bell peppers, and more. The children proudly collected them and enjoyed seeing the results of their patience and care.
This month, we also celebrated two very special birthdays. Brooks and Apollo turned three years old! Our Montessori birthday celebration is always a meaningful moment, as we reflect on each year of growth and celebrate the uniqueness of every child in our community.
During group time, we have been strengthening our listening skills by exploring different songs and identifying the instruments we hear in the background. The children have shown great focus and enthusiasm as they carefully listen and share their observations.
Thank you for your continued support and for allowing us to be part of your children’s journey.
Warmly,
Joselyne and luisana
Dear Gray Fox Families,
February has been a joyful and enriching month in our classroom! We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Elora’s mom and Dorian’s mom for visiting ourclassroom and sharing about Lunar New Year. We truly appreciate you taking the time to introduce the children to such a beautiful and meaningful celebration. Thank you, Eunae and Xin He, for making it such a special experience for all of us. The children had so much fun engaging in hands-on activities connected to the celebration. We created festive paper crafts, explored how to use chopsticks as a practical life lesson (the children were very focused and excited to practice!), and arranged special Lunar New Year items on our museum table. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about a new culture, traditions, and symbols in a meaningful and interactive way. Experiences like these help broaden the children’s understanding of the world and nurture respect for diversity.
As we move toward spring, we are also preparing for our Spring Conferences. These meetingsare a wonderful opportunity to share detailed observations about your child’s growth, strengths, and next steps. I look forward to connecting with each of you to celebrate progress and discuss how we can continue to support your child’s development together.
Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. Our Gray Fox community is stronger because of each of you.
Warm regards,
Ms. Rama
Hello Jackrabbit Families,
Thank you, McKay and Boros Family, for sharing your Lunar New Year traditions with us. It was such a meaningful and special experience to learn more about your celebrations, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into sharing this part of your culture. The children enjoyed the treats as well!
The children were so excited to harvest vegetables from the outdoor environment planters, they have been waiting patiently for them to be ready. They prepared a salad using the very first harvested celery and tomato, and it was served at lunch. Yes! They ate it and truly enjoyed tasting what they had grown! The children take full responsibility for watering and caring for the garden, and they take great pride in their accomplishments. This sense of ownership extends to our entire environment. Ms. Karen and I love witnessing how the classroom comes to life each morning as soon as we open the gate. At this point in the year, we have children who walk in ready to prepare snack, fold laundry, put away clean dishes, feed our fish as well as Lucio and Leo (our classroom pet birds), continue work from the day before, bake for the class, water the plants, and more. It is a joy to see the children taking such meaningful ownership of their space.
There are many works happening throughout the classroom each day, from washing tables and windows, to practicing division, counting the thousand chain, or writing stories. The children not only enjoy engaging in their own work, but also observing and learning from one another.
Some of our older children have been working especially hard on research projects and are beginning to present their findings to the class. So far, topics have included: Dogs, USA, and Africa. It has been wonderful to see them dive deeply into subjects of interest, organize their information, and confidently share their knowledge with their peers. These presentations foster not only research and writing skills, but also public speaking and a growing sense of confidence.
Thank you for your continued support, we are so proud of the meaningful work happening each day in our classroom!
Kindly,
Ms. Yadira and Ms. Karen
