December 2025

Peek Inside our Children’s House Community

Dear Wonderful Bobcat Families,

As the calendar turns to December, we are embracing the beauty and wonder of the Winter Season in our classroom!

-Exploring the World: Winter Wonders The children are actively engaged in lessons about winter, with a special focus on snow and snowflakes. We are also learning about how different creatures adapt to the cold! We've been exploring the fascinating concept of hibernation and discussing which animals go to sleep for the winter.  In our Cultural Language area, we have been enjoying a delightful song about the season: "Little Snowflake." The children love singing this together, and it has added a wonderful, cozy feeling to our circle time. You can enjoy this song at home with your child by following the link below:

-Practical Life: Concentration, Coordination, and Sewing- This month, the children have been highly engaged in Practical Life activities! In addition to enjoying the delicious cooking activity of orange waffles, we have introduced new sewing activities. The children have been learning how to stitch simple snowflakes and even sew little bags and ornaments. Sewing is a wonderful, complex activity in the Montessori environment that provides immense benefits. Through this work, the child develops:

  • Focus and Concentration

  • Hand-Eye Coordination

  • Carefulness

  • Patience

The time and care they put into these creations make them truly meaningful gifts.

Grace and Courtesy: The Gift of Giving and Kindness

We also want to acknowledge the beautiful environment of Grace and Courtesy we see blossoming daily. It is truly lovely to work in a classroom where the children are consistently demonstrating care for one another, offering help, and respecting the shared space. These moments of mutual respect are the heart of our Montessori community. As we approach the holidays, we are focusing on the true meaning of the season: the gift of giving and being kind one to another. We are discussing that the most valuable gifts are not always the things we buy, but the kindness, help, and thoughtful gestures we share with our friends and family. We are reinforcing the importance of using our words and actions to show love and support to everyone in our community.

Community Corner: A Warm Social Gathering

Thank you so much to all who attended our recent Social Gathering!  We had such a warm and wonderful time together, and it was truly special to share this moment with all of you. It was lovely seeing families connecting and getting to know each other better, and the children had a fantastic time playing and socializing in a relaxed environment. A huge thank you must go out to our dedicated Parent Coordinators! Your hard work and planning truly made the night a magical experience for everyone.

We wish you a joyful and peaceful December as we head into the holidays!

Warmly,

Ms. Rocio and Ms. Hany

Dear Gray Fox Families,

Dear Gray Fox Families,

As winter begins and the holiday season arrives, I hope you are enjoying this special time with your loved ones. December is a month full of joy, celebrations, and cozy moments, both at home and in our classroom.

🥗 Healthy Food Choices: During this month, we talked with the children about healthy and unhealthy foods. With so many holiday treats around, we encouraged them to enjoy special foods while also making healthy choices. The children enjoyed sorting foods and learning about balance in a fun and hands-on way.

󰔧 Family Time & Traditions: December is a wonderful time for family gatherings and celebrations. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or other traditions, these moments help create happy memories. Talking with your child about family traditions helps them feel connected and secure.

🧥 Winter Clothing Reminder: As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child comes to school with warm clothes such as jackets, hats, and mittens. Kindly label all winter items with your child’s name so they can be easily returned if misplaced.

It is easy to see the children encouraging and inspiring each other, they are so kind and warm to each other, as well as, to the adults around them. The children have built this community day by day and it is such a pleasure to observe it, you can also witness kindness during recess especially to our new Jackrabbit classmates, the children asking them to play with, and taking care of them.
