Honeybee

Hola Honeybee Familias!

Over the past few weeks, we have seen so much growth across the classroom! Many children are reaching exciting milestones in their gross motor development, from crawling to taking those first independent steps. We are also seeing more children join their friends at the meal table as they explore new foods and build independence during mealtimes.

With the warmer weather continuing, we are naturally spending more time outdoors throughout our day. Our outdoor environment has become an extension of our classroom, allowing for spontaneous moments of exploration, movement, and connection with nature. If you would like, you are welcome to send sunscreen for your child so we can apply it before going outside.

For our little ones who are practicing their walking skills, we would love your support in sending a pair of shoes that can either stay at school or come daily in their bags. This helps us take advantage of spontaneous outdoor moments where they can practice walking while pushing the wagon and building their confidence.

Thank you so much to everyone who signed up for conferences. It has truly been wonderful to connect with you and have meaningful conversations about your child’s development and experiences in the classroom.

Looking ahead to April, we have some fun and exciting events planned for our community! Our Makers Market will take place on April 25th, with lots of activities and opportunities for families to enjoy together. Stay tuned for more details coming soon! We are also excited to begin planning our Classroom Social with the help of our parent coordinator. Save the date for April 14th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. More information will be shared soon.

As always, thank you for being such an important part of our Honeybee community. We love partnering with you and watching your children grow each day.

Welcome back, Familia!

We’ve loved having the children back after spring break. It’s been so nice seeing them reconnect with their friends and settle back into our classroom routine.

With temperatures on the rise, we want to make sure your little ones stay protected during outdoor play. If you’d like to send bug spray or sunscreen, please label it with your child’s name—we will make sure to apply it and add more as needed during recess. If temperatures rise above 100°, we will utilize the gym for recess instead.

We’re also building up our “open and close” activities on the shelves. These are a big favorite right now and are wonderful for supporting independence and fine motor skills. If you have any small items at home, you’re no longer using, we would really appreciate donations! We’re especially looking for:

  • Small containers with easy-open or snap lids

  • Zipper pouches or small zipper containers

  • Old lunch boxes

  • Cleaned-out jars or moisturizer containers

  • Coin purses

  • Empty lipstick tubes

Anything simple that opens and closes is perfect!

Thank you so much for your continued support, we truly appreciate it 💛

Love, Ms. Daisy & Ms. Rebeca 🦋

Hummingbird

Dear Hummingbird Familia,

We hope you had a wonderful spring break! Please join us in welcoming our new friend “Cam” to the classroom. The children are curious about him and have been exchanging some smiles and laughter with him. They were kind enough to show him how we work in the classroom. Also, the children seemed very eager to discover the new language materials on the shelves and the art activities.

For food prep this month, the children thoroughly enjoyed making the blueberry muffins. I think they especially like to share them during lunchtime when everyone gets to taste the sweetness together. Along with the muffins, the children have been preparing smashed beans for our bean and cheese quesadillas. Also, they are practicing peeling mandarin oranges. At home, you can prepare the orange by leaving an orange slightly peeled so that your child can continue to peel it completely. Lastly, the children sliced cherry tomatoes and experienced how the juice splatters on the cutting board.

Also, we have started conferences this month, and they will continue to go on until April 10. If you haven’t already, please sign up so we can chat about your child and answer any questions you may have. We enjoy sharing the special moments when your children discover new things all around the classroom. They have such a genuine expression of being amazed, it’s so refreshing and inspiring to be part of every day.

Thank you for all your trust and support,

 Ms. Kat and Ms. Lenni

Hello Families, happy March!

This month has been nothing but joyful and lucky! We have welcomed a new friend in our classroom; her name is River! We having been excited seeing a new face and welcoming her in our classroom.  From spring break, we are settling back into the routine and have had fun conversation on some of the trips we have gone on and things we have seen!  This month we have received our first day of Spring! We see differences in the environment outside with more veggies on the vines and the flowers blooming!

Spring is a perfect season to provide more enrichment in a child’s life. With the cooler days, being outside and seeing the trees and flowers changing. Visting the Botanical Garden and even the Friendship Garden is a great opportunity for children to be outside and experience nature. Planting is another way to provide a purposeful activity in the child’s environment. The child can pick which plant or flower they would like to grow. Every day they get to water it, see it change and grow and eventual blossom or ripe Infront of the child’s eyes!

As we move through spring, remember that every small achievement is a building block in your child's development! By continuing to offer them autonomy and celebrate their efforts, you’re helping them build the confidence they need to take on the world with curiosity and joy.

Thank you for all that you do!

Warmly,

Ms. Morgan and Ms. Alina
