Honeybee
Hello Honeybee Families ☀️🐝
The weather has been warming up so beautifully, and our little ones have truly been enjoying their time outside. Whether riding in the stroller or pushing the wagon while practicing their steps, they are soaking up the sunshine and growing so much every day. It is such a joy to watch their progress. It has been so lovely greeting everyone at the main glass door. The children truly light up when they see you, and those moments of connection are so special to witness.
We are quickly approaching our Spring Conferences next month, so please be on the lookout for the sign up coming soon. These meetings are such a special opportunity to connect one on one, talk about your child’s development, answer any questions you may have, and set thoughtful goals together to best support their growth. It is also a wonderful time to share a little more about what you can expect as your child continues through the toddler years.
We are also very excited about our Elementary reading visits. Our elementary students have been coming in to read to our Nido babies, and it has been such a sweet experience. Hearing language from different voices supports the babies’ language development, and our elementary friends get to practice their reading skills. There have been so many smiles and little giggles shared with our older friends.
A friendly reminder to please label all belongings, including bottles and bottle caps. This helps us keep everything organized and ensures items make their way back home safely.
We are also approaching another Community Meeting and hope to see some familiar faces there. It is always a meaningful time to connect and explore Montessori topics together as a community.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We love growing alongside your sweet children each day

Butterfly
Hello Butterfly Familia, 🦋
During the month of February, our little butterflies have been enjoying hands-on food preparation experiences in the classroom. This month, we made warm and cozy Oatmeal Raisin Bars — a simple recipe the children were proud to create from start to finish.
Food preparation is an important part of our Montessori environment. The children practiced measuring, pouring, mixing, and pressing the mixture into the pan. These purposeful movements strengthen fine motor skills, coordination, concentration, and independence. Just as importantly, the children experienced the joy of contributing to our classroom community by preparing a snack to share.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups rolled oats
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
¼ cup melted butter
1 cup applesauce
¼ cup raisins
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Combine oats and cinnamon in a bowl.
Add melted butter, applesauce, and raisins. Mix until well combined.
Press evenly into a greased baking dish.
Bake for 25 minutes, until firm but soft to the touch.
Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
You may notice your child showing increased interest in helping in the kitchen at home. Inviting them to stir, pour, or measure supports the independence we are fostering in the classroom.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue nurturing capable, confident little learners this February!
Love,
Ms. Daisy & Ms. Rebeca 🩷
Hummingbird
Dear Hummingbird Familia,
This month, the toddlers seem very eager to work with our new food prep. Everyone has had the opportunity to observe and/or practice preparing pizza, grating cheese, peeling and slicing a banana, and baking oatmeal bars. During lunch time, we shared the oatmeal bars as a community. The pizza the children prepared most of the time made its way into the oven, but on some days, some children decided to explore the taste of each ingredient, which was the tomato paste, shredded mozzarella cheese, and English muffin.
We will be having spring conferences in March, the week we return from spring break. The conferences will be held after school at 3:30 PM in the Hummingbird classroom. The conference is a great time for parents to get a more in-depth update on their child’s progress and have an open conversation about their child at home and at school. We have one slot each day starting from March 17th to April 10, and the sign-up link for them should be sent out very soon.
In a Montessori toddler environment, we strive to approach each child in a respectful and unique way that meets their personality and needs. Each day, it’s important to observe them with fresh eyes, free from preconceptions. We use our observation skills to make notes on their movements, language, social interactions, and so much more. Some children respond well to a friendly greeting, while others prefer a quieter approach.
At home, there may be days that your child is willing to do all the tasks on their own, and the very next day, they seem overwhelmed or unwilling, which is typical for toddlers. For some, learning involves ups and downs and isn’t exactly a linear process. To support them, we meet the child where they are on that particular day.
Lastly, we will be wishing the very best for Oliver and Lincoln’s move up to their Children’s House classrooms in March. Our classroom functions very similarly to a home, in which everyone works on themselves alongside each other, like our very own Hummingbird family. We laugh, learn, and cheer everyone on throughout their journey in Toddler’s house. We will be missing our older friends and hope to see them around campus.
Thank you so much for entrusting us with your precious children. May your spring break be joyful and restful.
Warmly,
Ms. Kat and Ms. Lenni
Squirrel
Hello Squirrel Toddler Parents!
I hope you all had a lovely February, with February often being a month that highlights love and friendship, we have been focusing on gentle touches, kind words, and learning how to move around our friends carefully. Reading books that shine on community and sharing that community together.
Two beautiful new pieces of cabinets have been added to the classroom! We have been very interested in the new furniture and have loved the sense of order it has added to our environment.
This month was eventful in our community as we had a few friends start their toileting journey! As a reminder to please label all belonging with first and last name, we have multiple children with very similar clothing, and we would love to know who they belong to and avoid mix ups.
Keep an eye out for our sign-up going out for our upcoming conferences.
Also, reminder that Picture day is on February 25th!
Thank you for all that you do!
Warmly,
Ms. Morgan and Ms. Alina
