Honeybee

Hello Honeybee families!

We are so excited to begin our second school semester together and continue witnessing the beautiful growth happening in our Honeybee community. Already, we have seen so many wonderful milestones such as babies pulling up to stand, army crawling, sitting independently, and even standing all on their own! Every day brings new discoveries, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to support your child during this special time of development.

At this age, children are in what Dr. Montessori called the “absorbent mind” stage meaning they are learning constantly from everything around them. Their growing awareness of their environment, caregivers, and routines helps them build confidence, trust, and independence. With this in mind, we have made a small but meaningful change to support your child’s emotional well-being.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Door Update

We are now using the glass door facing the courtyard for Honeybee drop-off and pick-up. This gentle transition allows children to see their caregivers as they arrive and depart, which supports:

  • Emotional security

  • Independence

  • Reduced separation anxiety

  • Smoother, happier transitions

Being able to visually connect with you helps your child feel safe and confident as they move between home and school is an important part of developing trust and self-regulation.

Labeling Reminder

Please remember to label all belongings with your child’s first and last name, including clothing and bottle caps. This helps us quickly identify items and ensures everything finds its way back to the right little Honeybee.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined our last community meeting! It was truly a joy connecting with you and sharing about your child’s development and Montessori topics. If there are any topics you’d love to explore in future meetings, please feel free to reach out. We love hearing your ideas and working together to support your child’s growth.

Thank you for trusting us with your precious little ones. We are so honored to be part of their journey 💛

With gratitude,
The Honeybee

Butterfly

Welcome back Butterfly family!

We are happy to getting back into the swing of things after winter break. The children have been settling back into their routines and are showing comfort and confidence in the toddler environment.

We are excited to welcome Ajunee, Adeline and Kahil to our Butterfly classroom! Our new friends are getting to know the classroom, and the children have been very kind and welcoming as new friendships begin to form.

This month, the toddler have been enjoying hands-on learning through practical life activities, movement, stories, and time with friends. We are proud of how well they are adjusting and growing each day!

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another wonderful month together!

Love Ms. Daisy & Ms. Rebeca

Hummingbird

Happy New Year Hummingbird Familia!

We started 2026 with positive vibes and lots of excitement for the future growth of our class. The children returned with fresh eyes and energy to absorb all the new materials and activitiesin the environment. One of the areas we refreshed was all the materials on the language shelves, which help expand their vocabulary and senses. The children have been exploring real, fresh vegetables, which include butternut squash, corn on the cob, sweet potato, garlic, jicama, acorn squash, turnip, and parsnip.

Additionally, a second armchair was added to the classroom, so the children can enjoy listening to classical music on the CD player. When they learn to turn the music on, their faces seem to light up with pride, joy, and interest in the sounds. The other armchair is for reading books and is next to the fish tank. The fish tank family has grown as we added three guppy fish and two frogs, which the children seem to get excited about seeing the frogs swim around! Every day, the children have the opportunity to feed the fish and frogs as part of their “work”.

When it’s clean-up time, a neutral approach has proven to work the best with toddlers. Most of the time, toddlers will need us to initiate the clean-up process. Each time we see the signs of needing to clean up, we interact positively in collaborating with them to clean up. We find that they respond best when we all work together to clean up

For example, we can eagerly point out dirt, water, or pieces of paper on the floor. Then, let them know we can use a mop, broom, or brush to sweep up the mess, which they tend to eagerly retrieve. We get down on the floor to demonstrate how to sweep/mop the area. Then, we let them give it a try, and depending on their abilities, we may collaborate by either holding the dustpan, and they can sweep, or vice versa. Lastly, we fade away slightly to allow them some space to concentrate. We stay next to them, observing and giving any suggestions or encouragement throughout the process if needed.

When we encourage the children to take care of their environment, we all benefit from it, including the fish tank family, plants, children, and adults. It is always so beautiful to see our older children ready to help the younger ones clean up their spills or pick up any work left out. Being part of a community that models positive behaviors and consistently collaborates with clean-up helps to foster the growth of grace and courtesy amongst everyone.

Thank you so much for your trust and support,

Ms. Kat and Ms. Lenni

Hello Families!

Happy January, and Happy New Year!!

Here in class, we have observed all our friends so happy to see each other again. We love to greet our friends in the morning, while also helping them gather their things and leave for the day! It is so special to see the community that the children are creating and sharing and the joy they bring to another.

With the holidays and the time off, we got to share with our families; we are getting back into the groove of our schedule. And reforming the connections we make here at school. We have loved the song, “Who is Here Today?” Getting to sing their name and take a brief pause to ask them how they are doing. It’s so fun to come together to sing our fan favorite songs and share our thoughts and feelings.

During our work cycle, we have a great interest in expressing ourselves through art! Getting to use all the mediums such as clay, paint, crayon, while also, chalk. In the outdoor environment, they are provided with flower petals that are glued on paper and create beautiful artwork.

We have taken a special interest in the dishwasher as well! We invite some friends to put away our lunch dishes before nap time and have some friends unload them while setting up for lunch! Children have a strong desire to be a working member of their community, epically at home. I encourage you to invite your child to help unload and load the dishwasher! They take a strong pride in helping and doing something all on their own, even as something simple as putting a fork back in the drawer.

An important reminder that Re-enrollment is due on February 2nd!

During this month we welcomed a new friend to our class. Henry, he is a sweet boy with the sweetest smile, and we are excited to have him join us this new year!

It is all so surreal that we are already in 2026! I hope you have a well-received new year.

With much appreciation,

Ms. Morgan and Ms. Alina
