Honeybee

The time has come, Honeybee families!

We have finally reached the end of the school year and we can confidently say we have so much to be proud of! The amount of growth we’ve witnessed this year will be something that we will cherish forever. As the year comes to a close, we would like to extend our greatest thanks to the families who have made this year special. 🤍

Here are a few final reminders for the upcoming summer session. 🙂

Personal belongings WILL be labeled with FIRST and LAST name by teachers if not already done, per state and school requirements. This includes bedding, clothing, ALL food containers and bottles, and lunch/diaper bags.

Sunscreen and bug spray must be applied before drop off. Topical product consent forms must be filled out if you wish to leave the items at school to be reapplied.

We will be sending home all items on the last day of school to be refreshed. Please send back weather-appropriate clothing!

Water Day Reminders 🌊

We will be outside in the sun every Friday morning enjoying some water fun! Please come to school ready for water day. This includes dressed in swim outfits and diapers, with sunscreen and bug spray applied prior to drop off. Please refer to Ms. Susan’s email regarding water day baths and rinses. We request the following be packed (and labeled with first and last name):

Towel

Extra set of clothes

Water shoes (if applicable) (crocs, natives, etc.)

Hat (optional)

Again, thank you for the most wonderful year, Honeybee familia! Our team holds deep appreciation for the trust you put in us. The milestones and achievements we witness push us forward and fill our hearts with hope for their future endeavors. Thank you for sharing your child’s journey with us. 🫶🏼

Happy end of the year to all,

What precious moments Ms. Daisy and I have had with your children throughout the year. I tear up as I think back on those times, from where we started and where we are now. With time, consistency, and perseverance we have overcome many challenges that we now accomplish with ease. In the beginning, it might sound boring to hear, “our daily routine is the exact same every day" but this is where our consistency begins. The child comes in knowing there is little change and that will solidify trust and independence around the environment.

Thank you for all your patience and understanding to our Montessori philosophy and know that we are here, always, for your children. We hope to see you back and ready for another fall semester (or summer).

With love,

Ms. Daisy and Ms. Rebeca

Happy Summer Hummingbird Familia!

Seeing how much the children have grown this semester is incredible! With summer approaching, there comes a time of change, which can give us a chance to learn about ourselves and provide us with a new perspective. Our dear friend Audrey will be moving up to Children’s House this summer, we will miss having her in class, but are excited for her future too!

Regardless of age, every member of our Hummingbird family impacts everybody. Each person offers each other the opportunity to experience life in many different ways, whether it be learning new words, a new approach, or a style, we can all learn from each other. According to Dr. Maria Montessori, all the experiences children and adults have will help develop their personalities, and the adults can also learn and grow alongside them.

This month, everybody got a chance to finger-paint a heart-shaped magnet to celebrate Mother’s Day! Everybody seemed to enjoy getting messy with the finger painting. Also, for food prep, the children have had the option to scoop out watermelon balls, wash and slice strawberries, wash and pull grapes from the vines, or spread sun butter on crackers. The children loved drinking the leftover watermelon juice.

We hope you and your family have a safe and amazing summer break! We cherish every day that the children are in our lives because not only does it give us a chance to change our world for the better but also practice our approaches and gain awareness of ourselves and others. We will miss spending the weekdays together. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be part of your child’s life. We will have you in our thoughts.

Warmly,

Ms. Kat and Ms. Claudia

Hola Familias de Ardillas!

Our beautiful busy school year has ended, filled with lots of compassion, kindness, and hard work from the children. We have friends moving up to Children’s House and new friends joining us for the summer program. We will miss our older friends moving up, but we are excited for them! Thank you all for trusting us and being our support. We could not have accomplished what we have without your hard work at home too!

This month our older friends got to bake coconut cream drop biscuits which all the children enjoyed!

Ingredients

  •  1 3/4 Cup Flour

  •  1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

  •  1/2 Teaspoon Salt

  •  1 1/3 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup Coconut flakes

Recipe

1. Spray baking sheet with cookie oil

2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt

3. Stir in cream and mix until dough forms

4. Create drops of dough onto baking sheet

5. Bake 10-12 minutes at 425 degrees

6. Remove immediately from baking sheet

Many of our friends have enjoyed baking this month! Baking on their own is a big accomplishment as they pour the ingredients into the bowl, mix, and roll the dough. It can even take 15 minutes or more to finish all the steps for some children! We also got to celebrate birthdays and teacher appreciation week. Thank you all for the gifts.

Thank you for a wonderful school year, and we cannot wait for the summer program to start! See you in the Summer for those attending, if not I’ll see you again for the new school year!
