BLACK BEAR

Dear Black Bear Families,

March has been a bustling month at our school, filled with an array of lessons, activities, and joyful moments. Amidst the academic rigors, we've also dedicated time to nurturing our gardens under the guidance of Ms. Laura, learning invaluable lessons about patience, care, and the beauty of growth and fostering a deeper connection to nature and the environment.

In addition to our academic pursuits and garden care, March has seen us embark on a journey towards independence and self-sufficiency. Long walks through the surrounding neighborhood have not only served as physical exercise but also as opportunities for reflection and personal growth. These experiences have been instrumental in preparing us for our eagerly anticipated Big Trip to the mountains, instilling in us a sense of resilience and determination as we venture into the unknown.

Our Big Trip proved to be a resounding success, filled with laughter, adventure, and camaraderie. From conquering challenging trails to sharing hearty meals and spending time singing and listening to stories around the campfire, every moment was cherished as we strengthened our bonds as a community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who supported us along the way, and we eagerly anticipate the final weeks of this school year with excitement and the promise of more memorable experiences to come.

Thank you for your unwavering trust and support.

COYOTE

Dear Coyote Parents and Families,

March has flown by with a whirlwind of activities and learning experiences in the Coyote environment! As we wrap up this busy month, I want to express our gratitude for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming parent-teacher conferences through this next month.

One of the highlights of March was undoubtedly the much anticipated big trip to Prescott! It was incredible to witness them put their independent skills to the test, from packing their own bags to navigating hiking trails. Despite any challenges they faced along the way, the children demonstrated remarkable resilience and teamwork. They found confidence in themselves and their peers, cheering each other on through every activity. During their hikes, the children not only enjoyed the beautiful scenery but also learned fascinating facts about woodpeckers, trees, and even bones. They also had the opportunity to conquer a rock wall and zip-line back down, all while ending their days singing songs under the stars next to the crackling fire.

As we reflect on the adventures of March, we eagerly anticipate the discoveries and achievements that the rest of the year will bring for everyone!

Warm regards,

Ms. Shelby, Ms. Mary, and Ms. Evelyn

ROADRUNNER

Dear Roadrunner families,

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the whirlwind of activities and learning experiences we've shared throughout this incredibly busy month.

March has been dedicated primarily to our final preparations for the Big Trip, and I must say, it's been quite the journey already. We kicked off the month with our final fundraiser, the Color Run. It was the first day the children spent exclusively outdoors as we spent the morning at the park for PE and returned with our lunches for a picnic and whole group games and explorations, which set the tone for our upcoming adventure. The children were absolutely thrilled, and their enthusiasm was contagious.

Throughout the month, we've devoted many afternoons to collective walks with the Falcon classroom. These safety walks were instrumental in helping our students gain confidence and flexibility in walking for extended periods, carrying backpacks, and following safety protocols. I'm proud to say that our efforts have paid off, as our large group moved seamlessly and cohesively during our recent travels.

Our trip to Washington was nothing short of amazing. The children were fully immersed in a wide range of activities, from community building and teamwork games to lessons on ecology and outdoor skills. They explored the wilderness, participated in hikes and canoeing, and even had the opportunity to marvel at natural wonders like the Marymere waterfall and Lake Crescent's shoreline. Each child had a unique experience to share, and I'm certain these memories will stay with them for a lifetime.

In addition to our Big Trip training, we also took a well-deserved break during spring break. It was a perfect opportunity for everyone to recharge before diving back into our studies.

On the academic front, the children also spent time preparing for their state test and tested earlier this month. Despite the intensity of the preparation, we managed to infuse some fun into our curriculum, particularly with our geometry-themed baking sessions, our participation in the Great Mail Race, and our commitment to participation in the interlevel reading program in which students read to children in Children's House. There's still some significant work ahead of us, but I have every confidence that we'll tackle it together with enthusiasm and dedication.

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I can't help but reflect on how quickly time has flown by. It's been an incredible journey so far, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside your children each day.

Thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement. Together, we've created an environment where our students can thrive and grow. I look forward to the remaining months of the school year and all the adventures that lie ahead.

-Ms. Lauren
