BLACK BEAR
I am writing with gratitude for the wonderful few months we’ve had so far in the Black Bear community. 2023 is slipping right on past and the speed of the world seems to be picking up its pace. Every day spent with the children is a gift as they remind us what really matters: the love we share and the wonder of it all.
We had many lessons, continued to care for our garden and began our Nature Walks. November culminated with our traditional Stone Soup celebration. The children cooked, baked, decorated, and even put together a skit.
A special thank you to our parent volunteers for putting together a fantastic and fun filled Social. We loved being able to partner with Coyotes and had lots of food and games to enjoy!
May your holidays be filled with moments that fill you cup and bring your family Peace and Joy!
Warmly,
Ms. Rebeca and Ms. Carmen

COYOTE
Coyotes Parents,
As we reflect on the enriching experiences of November in our classroom, we think about the emphasis put on fostering effective communication tools and recognizing gratitude this month. Our focus naturally extended to the practice of grace and courtesy, creating an environment where your children can thrive socially and academically. The highlight was undoubtedly our Stone Soup meal, shared joyfully with the Black Bears on a picturesque fall day, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen by bringing their ingredients!
It's heartwarming to witness the inspiration radiating from the children as they discover their place and build confidence within the classroom and their peer groups. Their commitment to using kind words and practicing patience has contributed to a harmonious learning atmosphere. As we enjoyed three days off, we hope everyone relished their time with loved ones, fostering the same warmth and unity we cherish in our Coyote family.
Hoping you had a restful and joyful break!
Warmly,
Ms. Shelby, Ms. Neyamah, and Ms. Judith

FALCON
Dear Falcon Parents,
November brought growth and unity to our environment. The children showcased remarkable kindness and responsibility, embodying a supportive community. The children also finished projects, shared their in-depth studies with the class, and continued work inspired in the presentations they received.
We are looking forward to witness the children showcasing their creativity, independence, and responsibility as they begin their planning for the Upper Elementary Campout that will take place after winter break.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Ms. Ximena

ROADRUNNER
Dear Roadrunner families,
As we bid farewell to November, I am excited to share the highlights of our classroom over the past month.
Cross-Study Presentation:
Our students have embarked on a unique journey of self-selected discoveries through our first cross-study project. Each group chose a different period to focus on, and each child focused on different aspects of the period to research. The culmination of their efforts are coming to a close as they finish putting their research together to present next week.
Community Feast and Ice Cream Making:
Food has been a central theme that has brought us closer together this month as we enjoyed our first Community Feast, a delightful potluck lunch that allowed us to enjoy each other’s company before the Fall Break. The joy and camaraderie shared during this event were heartwarming. Additionally, the students had a blast making fresh ice cream for our Social, adding a sweet touch to our month.
Fundraising Success:
I’m thrilled to announce the success of our fundraising initiatives this month. Our Rosemary sales and Taco Tuesday event were met with overwhelming support from parents and families. Together we raised just over $1,000! This generous contribution will go towards funding our Big Trip in March. The children worked incredibly hard to make these ideas a reality and put so much work into making them happen, we are incredibly grateful to bear witness to these endeavors. Thank you for your participation and dedication to making these events a success.
Botanical Exploration:
Our students have been immersed in a world of botanical wonders this month. From spending time in the garden with Ms. Laura to visiting the Desert Botanical Garden, dissecting flowers and seeds, and even exploring a 20 lb jackfruit with Ms. Becca. These hands-on experiences are fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Upcoming Events:
As we reflect on last month’s adventures, I would like to kindly remind you of some upcoming events. On Monday, December 4th the students will have the opportunity to participate in our first whole class community service event at Feed My Starving Children. Please refer to the email sent out earlier this month and be sure to fill out the digital permission slip on Transparent Classroom. Also, on December 4th we will have a Community Meeting from 5:30-6:30 pm in which we will be covering details about the upcoming Camp Out in January. Please be sure to RSVP with the link sent out earlier this week.
We are grateful for the support and involvement of every one of you. We look forward to the upcoming month of December, filled with more exciting lessons and experiences.
Best regards,
Ms. Lauren and Ms. Juany
