BLACK BEAR
Dear Black Bear Families,
I am so pleased to be back and to see the children happy and thriving. Although it is only been a week, we are back to a routine with lots of smiles, work, lessons and fun. I am very thankful for Ms. Mary and Ms. Carmen for keeping things going while I was gone!
We are promptly diving into our sleepover preparation, with teams organizing meals and sleeping arrangements. It is wonderful to witness the children’s leadership and willingness to work hard!
As the weather begins to warm up, and with all the wonderful rain we’ve had, our gardens are blossoming and Ms. Laura is busy giving lessons and planning cooking activities with the harvest.
Please look for the emails in regards to the Sleepover details and upcoming meeting!
Thank you for your trust and support!
Ms. Rebeca and Ms. Carmen

COYOTE
Dear Coyote Parents and Families,
Happy New Year! We hope your winter break was filled with joy and relaxation. We are thrilled to be back in action at school, and getting back into the swing of lessons has been a joy.
This month, we welcomed two wonderful additions to our classroom – Ms. Evelyn and Ms. Mary. The children quickly warmed up to them, and their positive energy and contributions have already made a positive impact in the environment. We look forward to a fantastic, productive rest of the year filled with growth, exploration, and exciting discoveries. Thank you for your continued support in making our classroom a vibrant and nurturing space for learning.
Warm regards,
Ms. Shelby, Ms. Mary and Ms. Evelyn

FALCON
Dear Falcon Parents,
I'm thrilled to share the joyous experience of our recent campout at Tortilla Flat! The children, with excitement, took charge and organized the entire adventure, revealing their sense of responsibility and teamwork.
Throughout the planning process, we seamlessly wove in various subjects – geography, mathematics, geometry, biology, and language. It was heartening to see how their learning transcended the classroom into the great outdoors.
The campout was a true testament to the children's resilience and collaboration. Setting up camp, cooking together, and exploring nature became cherished moments of growth and connection. The positive energy from this adventure has spilled back into the classroom, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
Looking ahead, your continued support in emphasizing the importance of both academic focus and respect for teachers is invaluable. Together, we can ensure a happy and fulfilling school experience for all.
Gratefully,
Ms. Ximena and Ms. Carla

ROADRUNNER
Dear Roadrunner families,
I am delighted to share with you the exciting activities and achievements that took place in our classroom throughout January.
The highlight of the month was undoubtedly our Camp Out on the 25th. I am thrilled to report that the children exhibited an incredible amount of dedication and enthusiasm as they prepared for this event. Our sixth-grade students spent a day scouting and surveying the land to aid in preparations. It was heartwarming to see them rise as leaders in their group, taking the lead but also incorporating the ideas of others. The children had to work around the schedules of everyone and saw the value in the inter-related dependency of the other groups. We had check-in sessions and large group meetings, and the children learned invaluable navigation skills and how quickly complex math skills are needed for planning purposes. I am excited to share that it was a wonderful success, and I hope the children have shared their personal experiences and joys from the trip.
After the excitement from the Camp Out, the children are gradually settling back into their routine and finding their rhythm. We celebrated several birthdays this month, making it a joyous time for the children. This month we also saw a variety of science experiments and the planning and preparation for a Boba Tea Fundraiser for our Big Trip which is just around the corner.
As we look forward to February, I am excited about the great discoveries and learning experiences that await us. Wishing you a wonderful month ahead!
Warm regards,
Ms. Lauren and Ms. Juany
