Peek Inside our Children’s House Community

 Hello Bobcat families,

It has been a beautiful month of growth and discovery in our Montessori environment. As the weather shifts, the children have been particularly attuned to the natural world around them, showing a deep sense of wonder for the environment we share.

Earth Day and Environmental Stewardship

In honor of Earth Day, our community has focused on how we can act as caretakers of our planet. We recently read a wonderful story about the various ways we can protect the Earth, which sparked a lively discussion among the children.

In the spirit of Practical Life, we are practicing small but impactful habits in the classroom, such as:

  • Conserving resources by being mindful of water use during handwashing.

  • Reducing waste by ensuring scraps are placed in the correct bins.

  • Caring for plants and observing the life cycles occurring in our own outdoor spaces.

These lessons in "Grace and Courtesy" extend beyond our interactions with people; they encompass our relationship with the world we live in.

Supporting the Morning Rhythm & Nutrition

To help your child have the most successful day possible, we would like to emphasize the importance of a consistent morning routine.

  • Punctuality: Arriving at school on time allows children to transition smoothly into their morning work cycle and feel settled within the community.

  • Healthy Start: A nutritious, balanced breakfast provides the energy needed for deep concentration. We kindly ask that you avoid candy or high-sugar treats before school, as these can impact a child’s ability to focus.

  • Lunchtime: Please remember that our environment is a candy-free zone during lunch as well. We appreciate your help in prioritizing whole, nourishing foods that fuel their bodies and minds.

A Gentle Reminder: Uniform Policy. As we move into the final stretch of the school year, please take a moment to review the school uniform guidelines with your child. Maintaining a consistent uniform helps minimize distractions and fosters a sense of equality and focus within our "prepared environment."

We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child arrives each day in the appropriate attire, ready for a day of purposeful work.

Thank you for your continued support and for sharing your children with us!

Dear Cactus Wren Families,

As March arrived, we began to notice the beautiful changes in the weather here in Arizona. The children have been observing warmer days, brighter sunshine, and spending more time enjoying our outdoor environment. These seasonal changes have sparked many conversations and a growing curiosity about nature and the world around them.

Throughout the month, we had the pleasure of welcoming several parents into our classroom for observations. The children were truly fascinated and excited to have their parents present in the environment. It was so special to see them proudly engaging in their work, demonstrating independence, concentration, and a deep sense of ownership of their classroom. Moments like these beautifully reflect the Montessori philosophy, where children are active participants in their own learning.

One of the most meaningful experiences this month was observing the life cycle of butterflies. We cared for our caterpillars as they slowly transformed into chrysalides and eventually into butterflies. The children showed incredible patience and respect throughout the entire process, carefully observing each stage with wonder and excitement.

Releasing the butterflies was such a special moment for our Cactus Wren community. It gave the children a deeper understanding of growth, transformation, and the beauty of nature.

Thank you so much for your continued support and for being part of our classroom community. We truly appreciate the opportunity to share these special moments with you.

Warmly,
Joselyne and Luisana

Dear Gray Fox Families,

Gray Fox families,

What a wonderful month of learning and exploration we’ve had this April! The children have been deeply engaged and curious as always.

This month, we continued learning about the continents. We went through all the continent folders, which include beautiful pictures of different cultures, food habits, lifestyles, and people from around the world. The children truly enjoyed looking at these pictures and were fascinated to see how people live in different parts of the world. It was a joy to watch their curiosity grow as they made connections and asked thoughtful questions.

We also had so much fun observing the butterfly life cycle in our classroom. It was a truly special experience, and we can’t explain how happy we felt releasing the butterflies into nature!

We continued to talk about caring for our Earth and reminded the children that every day is Earth Day. We discussed simple ways to take care of our environment, like saving water, turning off lights, and practicing reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Thank you all for coming to the observations and conferences. I hope you enjoyed observing the Gray Fox classroom and seeing the children engaged in their work.

As the weather is getting warmer, please send your child in lighter clothing. Jackets are no longer needed.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of our classroom community. We truly enjoy watching your children learn and grow each day!

Warm regards,

Ms.Rama and Ms. Cecilia

Hello Jackrabbit Families,

Hello Dear Jackrabbit Families,

What beautiful weather we have enjoyed this month! The children have been spending more time outdoors, caring for our garden environment. The planters they tend to each day are thriving. We have already harvested tomatoes, green bell peppers, eggplants, celery, herbs, and strawberries. The children take great pride in preparing fresh salads using the fruits and vegetables they have grown themselves.

Our kindergarteners were especially excited to present their research to some of our Lower Elementary students. They spoke with growing confidence and did their very best. It was truly heartwarming to observe their developing public speaking skills and sense of pride in their work.

We have continued our study of butterflies and their life cycle. Over the past few weeks, the children observed each stage of development, from tiny eggs, to caterpillars, to chrysalides, and finally to butterflies. They watched closely as the caterpillars grew, shed their skin, and formed chrysalides. After a period of transformation inside the chrysalis, the butterflies emerged. It has been a wonderful way for the children to understand the life cycle of butterflies. This month, we were able to release our butterflies, and the children were so excited to watch them take their first flight.

As the months go by, the children have fully acclimated to their school routine. It is truly beautiful to witness the strong sense of ownership and belonging they have developed. They move confidently throughout the classroom and campus, have formed meaningful friendships, and have engaged in countless lessons and hours of practice to master new concepts. Our older students continue to amaze us with their leadership and kindness toward their younger peers. We talk and read about kindness daily, and it is always heartwarming to see the genuine care and thoughtful gestures the children show one another.

Thank you, families, for attending Creo’s Carnival and Makers Market. We truly enjoyed sharing that special time with you. We also appreciate your participation in conferences; it is always meaningful to connect with you and share your child’s experiences in the classroom.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Warmly,
Ms. Yadira and Ms. Karen
