Peek Inside our Children’s House Community
Dear Wonderful Bobcat Families,
A Warm Welcome from the Bobcat Children’s House!
It's been an incredibly busy and wonderful first month of the year in our classroom. We're so excited to welcome our newest students: Charlie, Charlotte, Christopher, Claire, Frederick, Griffin, Juan, Levy, Mia, Milena, and Olivia! It's a joy to have them join our community.
Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to our classroom wishlist. Your support helps us create a beautiful and engaging environment for the children, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Adjusting to the Classroom:
For many of our new students, this is their first experience in a classroom setting, and we know that drop-offs can be emotional. Please know that this is a very normal phase and it will pass. Ms. Rocio and I do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible, and we are always here to comfort and support your child.
We've been focusing on lessons in Grace and Courtesy, which are essential for creating a harmonious and respectful classroom. We present these lessons in small groups and use role-playing to help the children practice new skills. This month, some of the lessons we've worked on include:
How to ask a friend for help.
How to observe a classmate who is working.
How to walk and move carefully in the classroom.
Using quiet voices indoors.
Walking around rugs without disturbing them.
How to clean up after having a snack.
Important Reminders:
As we settle into our routine, here are a few friendly reminders to help your child feel more independent and prepared for their school day:
Lunchboxes: Please practice with your child at home to make sure they can open their own lunchbox and food containers independently. If they use a bento box, they should be able to scoop their food onto a plate by themselves.
Uniforms and Shoes: Children should come to school in their clean uniform. Their lunchboxes should also be clean. Please make sure your child wears shoes they can put on and take off on their own. If they can tie laces independently, lace-up shoes are fine. Otherwise, please choose shoes with velcro or slip-ons.
Health: If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home to rest and prevent the spread of germs.
Show and Share: Every Friday, we have an optional "Show and Share" time. Please remember to send in a meaningful object or book. No toys or stuffed animals.
Extra Clothes: If we send a wet change of clothes home with your child, please send a new set back to school the next day.
Drop-off: Drop-off is at 8:15 AM, unless your child is enrolled in our Before Care program.
Sign-in: Please remember that only parents or authorized adults can sign the children in on the iPad, as it is a legal document.
Thank you for your partnership and support in making this a wonderful school year.
Best,
Ms. Hany and Ms. Rocio

Dear Cactus Wren Families,
Dear Cactus Wren families,
The past few weeks have been a wonderful start to the school year. We want to send a warm welcome to all our returning and new families. We are so happy for all the amazing children we have in this beautiful Cactus Wren family. The children have spent these past weeks familiarizing themselves with the classroom routines and practicing new and previous lessons. We have also focused on introducing Grace and Courtesy lessons to our new children. These lessons help children develop positive interactions in the classroom. It’s been heartwarming to see the children in the classroom helping each other.
Story time is one of our favorite activities that we enjoyed having at circle time. Our favorite finger play and story telling this month was Pic and Puc Spanish version. This story is about two dwarfs who are very good friends and work in a cave with different tools at different speeds. Finger plays are great for child development as they enhance fine motor skills, language development, memory, concentration, and social skills. These activities, which combine songs and rhymes with hand movements, offer a fun and engaging way for children to learn new vocabulary.
Besides all the new lessons we had and previous lessons the children were practicing this month, we also learned about opposites in Spanish. Music is something the children really like, and it has a lot of benefits, such as motor skills and brain development. A song we enjoyed singing is “Abre Cierra” by Super Simple Español. This song is about opposites in Spanish, while we sing the song we also mimic with our body, this way the children associate the word with the action understanding the meaning of the song.
Lastly, we would like to express sincere gratitude for your generosity and generous heart in supporting our Cactus Wren Community. We are so grateful for you and appreciate all the Cactus Wren Families.
Warmly,
Joselyne and luisana

Dear Gray Fox Families,
HELLO GRAY FOX FAMILIES,
We are so happy to begin another school year together! August has been filled with cheerful reunions, warm welcomes, and new discoveries. A heartfelt welcome to our new families, we’re delighted to have you as part of our Gray Fox community, where children’s curiosity and growth are celebrated each day.
During these first few weeks, our classroom has been focusing on two main areas: building friendships and practicing Grace and Courtesy. These small but meaningful lessons help create a caring and respectful environment for all. Some examples include:
●Greeting a teacher politely
●Offering a hug to a friend
●Carrying and balancing a tray
●Using the bathroom independently
●Pouring water for drinking
●Asking a friend to give space
●Observing a lesson quietly
●Asking for help when needed
These skills not only support independence but also strengthen the sense of community within our classroom. At home, you can join in on the fun by trying a simple baking activity with your child. This month, we’re sharing a recipe for Apple Cinnamon Oat Cookies, a cozy, wholesome treat the children can help prepare.
Apple Cinnamon Oat Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
● 1 cup rolled oats
● 1/2 cup applesauce
● 1/4 cup raisins
● 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Hello Jackrabbit Families,
What a wonderful start to the school year! We are so excited to welcome everyone back to the Jackrabbit’s and we welcome our new students and their families. We are looking forward to a year full of growing, learning and becoming a community. The children have been enjoying their new lessons and adapting to the environment and routine.
On our first several weeks of school, we have been working on Grace and Courtesy lessons to support the children in their daily social interactions. These lessons will continue throughout the year as they bring peaceful, loving, and trusting relationships with one another. There is also a lot of work going on in all areas of the classroom . We have noticed many works being used in the Language area such as moveable alphabet and lots of reading and writing. Our younger friends are working on learning the phonetic sounds of the alphabet with the usage of the sandpaper letters. If your child comes home with a small booklet of letters, please practice with them the sounds from his booklet, for example “this is mmmmmm” for “mom”.
The children have started working on the gardens with Ms. Laura (Creo’s Garden Specialist). She talked to the children about the process of germinating seeds. For now, the children started germinating cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce, kale, and iceberg lettuce.
It was great seeing you at our first Community Meeting, thank you for attending. We invite you to attend future parent nights, as those meetings will give you a better understanding of what happens in our classroom on a daily basis.
A couple of reminders:
- Children should not wear “crocs” or open toe sandals. Please refer to Creo’s uniform handbook Page 28
-Thank you for your cooperation on keeping morning drop-off time “short and sweet”
-Apple sauce and yogurt pouches need to be poured into a container
-Please return your child’s work folder the next school day after they bring it home
Thank you for your trust and support. We are truly grateful to be back in the classroom, spending our days with each of the children. We look forward to a wonderful year filled with new experiences and the beginning of lifelong memories. We appreciate you, and it is an honor to be part of your child’s Montessori journey.
Warmly,
Ms. Yadira and Ms. Karen
