Happy October Honeybee Families!
In last month’s community meeting, we were able to discuss what Independence looks like in the child. Let your child take the lead and see what magic happens! Observation is our greatest tool when trying to understand the children and the world around them. Watch as your babies grow and acquire new skills! Whether they are at school, at home, or outside, the child is constantly learning and changing.
This season of change is not just limited to the natural world around us, but to the classroom and our students too! We have had some new friends join our lovely Honeybee family, so please welcome any new faces that you might see around. Among those new faces, we’re so excited to welcome Ms. Erika’s new baby girl, Etta, into the world! Soon, Ms. Maria will also have her maternity leave for her baby boy.
Looking forward, our main upcoming event is the Viva Las Vegas Esperanza Charity Event! We have lots of informational emails going out so be on the lookout! At this event, we will be able to showcase and auction off our Classroom Project. We look forward to seeing you there!
With all our love,
The Honeybee Team! 🤍

Hello, Fall!
We are receiving this wonderful weather with open arms and ready to embrace every bit of it. We are so lucky that we able to enjoy the outdoors with the children throughout most of this change in weather.
With this change in weather, unfortunately, we experience a rise of colds, coughs, and much more. Please keep your children a home if they are experiencing fevers and aggressive changes in health. It is helpful to stay up to date with who is out with what so please shoot me and email if your child is home sick. It is also helpful to the front office staff, one less phone call to be made. (:
We are welcoming this new season with baking corn bread. A few simple ingredients to get the children to pour in all into one mixing bowl, on their own. This allows the children to bake independently as much as possible. We first show the children to pour in all dry ingredients and stir those by themselves. Once those ingredients are well mixed, they pour in the wet ingredients and we help stir those in well.
Thank you all who signed up for to come observe and meet about the observations and overall progress in your children, it is one thing to tell you how they are doing, and a whole other thing to watch it for yourself. If you have not been able to sign up because the dates don’t fit your schedule, reach out to me so we can arrange a conference at another time and date.
Thank you for all you do.
Warmly,
Ms. Rebeca and Ms. Yohanna

"An adult can assist in shaping the environment, but it is the child that perfects his own being."
- Mari Montessori
Hello Hummingbird Families,
We are so proud of each of the toddlers in the class. They are all becoming more independent day by day. The photos show the progress of a few of our students but they have all made leaps and bounds in just the first couple months of this school year! Its a beautiful sight to see each child care for their environment as they clean up after themselves, prepare snack for the class, set the table for lunch, pour water for their friends, and much more!
We have been so happy with the turn out of our parent-teacher conferences. It is a joy to have parents to be able to witness the children at work, and the children have been continuously working and comfortable with our visitors as well. If you have not done so already, please be sure to sign up for an upcoming conference.
These past two and a half months have flown by! The toddlers are now better adjusted to the classroom and their concentration continues to expand. The Montessori environment corresponds to what they naturally crave, activities and experiences to develop coordination, support independence, assist in taking care of self, and help in taking care of the environment. All of the activities offer useful lessons in the real world.
As they are now more comfortable with the daily routine they are free to choose which ever activity they have had lessons on. Throughout the day they wipe their own nose, sweep, clean spills from the floor, wipe the table, water the plants, sort the laundry, clean their shoes, carry their nap mats, and then wipe their nose again! These toddlers learn through exploration and through their senses. We are so proud of each of these children and thrilled to see them continually grow.
If you have not done so already, please be sure to sign up for an upcoming conference. Have a wonderful Fall Break!
Included in the pictures below are two songs that the children have been signing along to and learning the hand movements for the past couple of months. If you are unfamiliar with these songs or their movements, feel free to ask or look them up on Youtube!

Feliz Octubre!
It has been so great to have you guys come in for conferences and observations! Although 20 minutes is seems like it is such a short time in our toddler environment A LOT happens in 20 minutes. The children enjoyed seeing parents and a few showed off their parents to the other children. Thank you all for your trust and support.
As the weather cool a few have brought jackets or sweaters. Soon it will be super chilly in the morning and it will be a great time for the children to learn the new skill of taking off their jacket/sweaters and placing them on a hanger as well as putting it back on! The “Montessori flip” is what we use on the classroom where they place the jacket on the floor upside down from them and place their hands in the sleeves. As the swing their hands up they flip the jacket/sweater to fall on their backs. Remember to label ALL belongings.
Lunch time has been a great opportunity for them to interact and social with their friends, as we get new little ones the older children model how to set the table and table manners. It is great to see them observe the ones using utensils and they start to look for their own utensils and try to use them. Having a variety of foods and is a great way to encourage them to use their utensils and support their fine motor skills. As well as practicing at home opening their containers to observe if they are capable with little to no help.
