The adult should be the person who always encourages; the person who appreciates everything positive that the child does; the person who listens patiently and joins in when he is asked; the person who is always present as a vivifying force. One should realize that the child is uncertain in the formation of what he has not yet formed, finding himself in a world which he does not know and which is new to him, needing and asking the adult’s approval and encouragement.

Susan He

honeybee Nido Lead Guide

Ms. Susan grew up in China and moved to Arizona in 2013. She came across Montessori when she was researching parenting methods for her children. She finished her AMI training at Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies (SIMS) for both 0-3 and 3-6. Then she helped the training center interpret both levels. She also holds a master’s degree of Information, Management, Organization and Technology from Lancaster University, UK.

Her two lovely children Benjamin and Hannah joined the Creo family when they were toddlers and now both have moved up to Elementary and Children’s House. Ms. Susan believes that children should be developed in a wholistic way, including social ability, emotional control/expression, movement, intellect and independence. Watching her children transform over the years has strengthen her belief in Montessori.

In her free time, Ms. Susan enjoys spending time with her family. They like travel, hiking and other outdoor activities. She also likes badminton and music.
