“We discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being.”
Emily Wharton
Falcon upper elementary Lead Guide
Emily was raised in Arizona and is thrilled to be a part of the team at Creo School! She received a Bachelor of Music in music theatre performance with a minor in Italian from Arizona State University, an AMI Elementary Diploma (ages 6 to 12) from the Montessori Institute of San Diego, and a Master of Montessori Education from Loyola University Maryland. In addition, she is Arizona State certified in grades K-8.
Emily has always enjoyed working with children. Prior to teaching, she was a nanny for six years, taught a music theatre class for ages 5 to 8, and spent a year as a lead elementary tutor. It was during her time as a tutor that she realized there were inconsistencies in the traditional methods of teaching, and she found her passion for Montessori theory. Emily has been a lead Montessori teacher since 2017 and has taught in both a 6-12 and 9-12 environment as well as in both public school and private school settings.
Emily is mother to a beautiful little girl who will also be joining the Creo familia. In her spare time Emily enjoys reading, singing, crocheting, camping, and spending time with her family. She loves to learn new things and loves all arts and crafts projects. Emily is very excited to continue her work guiding children to reach their full potential and igniting a love of learning.
