Peek Inside our Children’s House Community
Hello Bobcat families,
September has been a warm and wonderful month in our classroom. We have spent this time getting to know one another and building strong, trusting relationships. Our new children have adjusted beautifully to our daily routines and ground rules, helping us maintain a peaceful, kind, and beautiful environment.
A very warm welcome to Jude Oliveira Sperink, who joined our community this past month! It is an absolute joy to have him with us.
Classroom Highlights
Plant Life Cycles: The children had the opportunity to explore the lifecycle of a plant firsthand. They were thrilled to watch their own cucumber seeds sprout and grow, taking turns watering them and ensuring they received enough sunlight. There was great excitement as they noticed some seeds grew taller than others, even though they were planted on the very same day!
Peace Day: We celebrated Peace Day with a special circle time focused on what peace means and how we can practice peace every day.
Grace & Courtesy: Throughout the month, we continued our daily lessons on grace and courtesy. The children are actively practicing taking turns, cleaning up after themselves, respecting friends who are working, walking inside, using soft voices, using kind words, and practicing proper table manners.
Music & Literacy
In Song: During Circle Time, the children have been loving "Paz como un río" by Elizabeth Mitchell and Suni Paz.
In Literature: For Peace Day, Levi generously donated a beautiful book to our classroom: Peace Is an Offering by Annette LeBox and Stephanie Graegin. The story shows how a group of children find love in simple everyday moments and reminds us that peace is all around if we just look for it.
Montessori Thought: Being the Model
At this age, children learn by observing and experiencing the world around them. They are like sponges, absorbing everything—both good and bad—which makes it so important for us as adults to filter what we expose them to, from the movies they watch and books they read to the language and reactions we use when we are upset or make a mistake.
In a Montessori classroom, our six-year-olds serve as leaders for the younger three-year-olds. At home, you are your child’s leader. They want to be just like you, and you are their primary role model. Help your child become their best self by working on yourself, watching how you speak and act in front of them, and ensuring they have the tools to succeed at school:
Ensure they get enough rest each night.
Provide a well-balanced breakfast and lunch (consider saving sugary treats for the weekends rather than morning meals).
Important Reminders
Uniform Policy: Please ensure your child wears their Creo uniform daily. Girls should wear shorts underneath their dresses, and all footwear must follow the handbook guidelines.
Jewelry: Please, no necklaces at school for safety.
Label Belongings: As the weather turns cooler and children bring layers, please label all sweaters, jackets, and personal items.

Dear Cactus Wren Families,
September has been a fun and busy month! We are very excited to welcome our new friend Ayaan
to Cactus Wren!
For the month of September, the children learned about Apples! We learned about the life cycle,
parts of the apple, and we did an apple tasting. Before we tasted the apples, we sliced one down
the middle to get a closer look at the parts of the apple. The apples that we tasted were Granny
Smith, Red Delicious, Pink Lady, Gala, and Honey Crisp. It was fun hearing the children using
descriptive words for each apple!
Peace Day was also celebrated on September 21st. To prepare for this special celebration during
group time we would practice Light a Candle for Peace and Paz Como un Rio. The children truly find
peace and it's beautiful to see how much they feel these songs. On the day of Peace Day, we also
made a beautiful Peace Dove. An outline of a dove was printed and each child had a turn to choose
a color of their choice and then with that paint was placed on of their fingers and made fingerprints
on the body of the dove
With the weather very slowly cooling down we have been enjoying more time in Outdoor
Environment. The children enjoy helping us set up the patio in the mornings. They also notice that
more leaves are on the ground each day!

Dear Gray Fox Families,
Gray Fox families,
September has been a beautiful month of settling in, building friendships, and growing together in our Gray Fox community. It has been wonderful to watch the children become more comfortable in the classroom, reconnect with friends, and take pride in caring for their environment.
One of the highlights of this month was celebrating Peace Day. The children enjoyed singing our peace songs, listening to stories, and talking about what peace and kindness can look like in our everyday lives. Through our Grace and Courtesy lessons, we continue to practice gentle ways of interacting with one another—using kind words, walking peacefully, helping a friend, waiting patiently, and caring for our classroom community.
We have also been enjoying the beginning of fall and spending time outdoors. A special thank you to Ms. Laura for spending time with us in the garden and helping the children learn more about caring for plants. The children have loved getting their hands in the soil, observing the garden, and learning where some of our food comes from.
Our Practical Life activities continue to be a favorite part of the classroom. Cooking, food preparation, gardening, cleaning, and caring for our environment give the children opportunities to build independence, concentration, coordination, and confidence. These everyday experiences are an important part of the Montessori environment, and it is wonderful to see how proud the children are when they can say, “I did it myself!”
A special thank you to all the families who joined our community meeting, “Montessori at Home.” We enjoyed having the opportunity to connect with you, share ideas, and learn from one another. Your participation, thoughtful questions, and conversations made the evening especially meaningful.
We are also very grateful to our parent volunteers who have been generously sharing their time, ideas, and energy as we work on our classroom project and prepare our basket for the Esperanza Charity Event. As we look ahead, we hope many of you will be able to join us for the Esperanza Charity Event. It is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together, support one another, and celebrate the spirit of giving.
As we move further into fall, we look forward to more opportunities for cooking, gardening, outdoor exploration, and meaningful work in the classroom. Thank you for being such an important part of our Gray Fox community and for allowing us to share these special moments with your children.

Hello Jackrabbit Families,
It is lovely to observe how the older children are stepping as leaders, and are bringing under their wings the younger children, they are kind and warm to each other. What a lovely community!
Thank you so much for attending our “Practical Life and Montessori at home,” Community Meeting, it is always wonderful to have you.
This past month we celebrated Peace Day, and it was a very hearth warming celebration, as the whole school sang together. If you would like to sing at home with your family, here are the names of the songs that the children sang during Peace Day:

We also celebrated Dr. Maria’s Montessori 156th Birthday and we read a book about her life. The children enjoyed learning about who she was. We also celebrated Mexican Independence Day on September 16th, the children enjoyed dancing traditional songs from Mexico.
The children have continued working in our garden and had the opportunity to learn about the process of seed germination with Ms. Laura, Creo’s Garden Specialist. The children began germinating cucumber seeds and were excited to observe and care for their plants as they grow. They were especially excited to bring home their very own cucumber plant and continue caring for it at home!
The children have already begun working on the Jackrabbits Auction Project, and they are having such a wonderful time! A special thank you to our amazing parent volunteer moms who generously came in to help with this project. We truly appreciate your time, support, and enthusiasm. The children have been so excited to participate and are enjoying every moment of the process!
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our generous Jackrabbit families for your thoughtful donations at the start of the school year, as well as your contributions to our auction basket and project. Your support and generosity make these special experiences possible for our children, and we truly appreciatebeing part of such a wonderful community!
Note:
Every last Friday of the month, we have “Show and Share”, it is optional. Please, we ask you not to send fantasy books, instead perhaps your child can bring a non-fiction book, maybe from a trip. It needs to be something meaningful to them, one example can be a traditional object from a vacation from another Country.
