Peek Inside our Children’s House Community
Hello Bobcat families,
Hello Bobcat families,
Spring is coming! I hope you are all safe and well. As the days are getting warmer, we open our outdoor environment area. Young children are dynamic learners who are using all their senses to construct their intelligence. Contac with the natural world provides not only a necessary stimulus for their body and mind, but also an important connection with the outside world around them. Our children at Creo school are fortunate to have access to this environment and spend time in nature. Nature provides the child with powerful gifts: discovery, wonder, empathy, curiosity, as well as responsibility and a sense of belonging.
This month children had the opportunity to harvest some celery, turnip, tomatoes, and oranges. The children learn to take care for the plants, from planting seeds, watering, weeding, and harvesting. The time it takes to grow a seed to harvesting veggies can vary from weeks to months. The children get a bigger understanding that some things in life take more effort and time in order to see a result.
Have a fun Spring break!
Ms. Hany and Ms. Joselyne

CACTUS WREN
Dear Cactus Wren Families,
Ms. Laura & Ms. Tania

Hello Gray Fox families,
Hello Gray Fox Families,
What an exciting February it has been for us all!
Firstly, let's extend a warm welcome to our newest addition to the Gray Fox family, Dorian and Sabrina! Let's make sure to greet them with open arms and show them the love and support that makes our community so special.
As we settle back into our routines this month, we've been busy with some fantastic activities. Our little artists have been experimenting with veggie finger paints, creating colorful masterpieces that showcase both creativity and healthy living. It's been a joy to see their imaginations come to life on the canvas!
In addition to our artistic endeavors, our gardening project has been flourishing. Our peppers are growing beautifully, thanks to the care and attention of our budding gardeners. Thanks to Ms. Laura for taking care of the gardens. If you find yourselves with an abundance of harvest from your own gardens, we encourage you to consider donating the extra produce to our classroom. It's a wonderful way to teach our children about giving back and sharing with others.
As we look forward to the spring ahead, let's remember to mark our calendars for the upcoming conferences. It will be a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and celebrate their achievements together.
Thank you for being part of our Gray Fox community. Here's to a fantastic month ahead!
Warm regards,
Ms. Rama and Ms. Rocio

JACKRABBIT
Hello Dear Jackrabbit Families,
The children have been patiently waiting for the vegetables to do their grand entrance in our garden beds and the wait is over! We got to harvest so many vegetables. The children prepared an Asian lettuce salad with our very first harvested tomato, which was served for snack. Yes! They tasted it and enjoyed it!. The children take full responsibility for the watering and upkeep of the plants and take full pride of their accomplishments. This is true for the entire environment. Karen and I enjoy witnessing every morning how the environment comes to life as soon as we open the gate. At this point of the year, we have children who walk right in to prepare snack, fold the laundry, put clean dishes away, feed our fish bubbles and Lucy, and Leo the birds, continue a work from the day before, bake for the class, water the plants, etc. It is a pleasure to see the children taking ownership of their Children’s House.
There are many works happening in the classroom. From washing tables and windows, to working on division, counting the thousand chain, or parts of speech. The children enjoy working and also observing each other. This month, we also have had some elementary children come into the classroom to read a book to us. It is lovely to observe how everyone kindly listens as the 6th grader reads to them.
This month, the children have been baking “Oatmeal Raisin Cookies”. Here is the recipe in case you wish to bake it with your family:
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Ingredients.
1 ¼ cup rolled oats
1 cup of applesauce
¼ cup of raisins
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
• Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• In a mixing bowl, combine oats, apple sauce, and cinnamon. Stir with a spatula until all the oats are coated in applesauce.
• Stir in the raisins until they are evenly incorporated (your dough will be very wet and loose. This is normal)
• Using a 1.5 tbsp cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough and release onto your prepared baking sheet, spaced 1.5 inches apart. Use the palm of your hand to press down on each cookie dough ball so that it forms a thick round disk.
• Bake cookies for about 15 minutes. Let them cool on baking sheet. Once cookies are cooled, remove them using a thin cookie spatula.
A quick reminder: if your child brings a wet changed of clothes home, please replace it and bring it the day after to make sure your child has extra clothes at school. All items should be labeled with your child’s name and placed in a gallon size ziplock bag. The children also need to bring back their clear plastic work folder after they empty it at home once a month.
Kindly,
Ms. Yadira and Ms. Karen
