The children have been exploring the continent of Asia this past month, it’s different landmarks and landforms, peoples and cultures. Thank you to the Narain family for sharing the story of Holi with the class. The children loved learning about its history and celebration!
The children have also begun learning about the life cycle of butterflies, with our caterpillars in the classroom. They are studying the different growth stages and facts around caterpillars and butterflies. They are also excited to release them when they emerge from their chrysalis.
It has been an amazing March and we are excited to see where April will lead. Thank you again families for all that you do and support. You and the children make our community so bright and it is incredible to know you all.
Warmly,
Ms. Laura and Ms. Annette

Hello Gray Fox families,
Hello Gray Fox families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! Although it has been a short month together, we have still had plenty of time to introduce some new and exciting things into the classroom! This month we have acquired a praying mantis “egg case”, scientifically known as an “ootheca”. We will care for the ootheca for several weeks before it hatches with dozens of baby praying mantises, called nymphs. Following the hatching, we will observe them for several more days as they move through their entire life cycle to adult mantis before releasing them. This is our first time doing a praying mantis life cycle and habitat, so it has been so fun for us all to learn together! We learned that a praying mantis is a part of the insect species, as well as how to identify an insect, being that not all bugs are actually insects. An insect must have 3 body parts (the head, thorax and abdomen), as well as 6 identifiable legs.
I also want to thank our parent coordinators for helping facilitate our final Gray Fox social to round out the year. It is so nice to have the opportunity to allow the kids time to socialize and play outside of school hours and share their own unique style with one another outside of their uniforms!
As we move into our final weeks of the school year, I also want to encourage you to refrain from talking about the timeline as much as possible. Children do understand the concept of time differently and I want the children to remain motivated to continue learning, engaging and progressing through material as much as possible in our final weeks. I want to thank each family for your support and for being so amazing. I have loved sharing my observations and shared love of your children with each of you during our conferences. I am truly honored to get to guide each and every one of your children that I love so deeply.
Warmly,
Ms. Kayla and Ms. Edna

JACKRABBIT
Hello Jackrabbit Families,
Thank you so much for attending our Jackrabbit Spring Social and for the delicious food. We all had so much fun, especially the children as you could see their smiley faces enjoying every second of it.. We couldn’t be happier to be part of this amazing community we have. Thank you to our amazing room parents for organizing this event!
How lucky are we to be able to enjoy this beautiful weather!! Our classroom doors have been spread open all day offering an opportunity to the children to naturally flow from inside to the outside of the classroom. It is easy to spy a child painting on the easel, doing yoga, scrubbing the sidewalk, watering the garden, filling up the bird feeder, washing clothes, sweeping the leaves, taking a little nature walk, and much more. In the afternoons, we take nature walks around campus and enjoy the different sounds and sights. The children have been taking such good care of our garden. Each day they will observe if the strawberries and broccoli are ready to be picked and the tomatoes are growing. We have been learning about flowers by introducing new vocabulary. For example, types of flowers and parts of a flower. We have been talking about butterflies and stages of their life cycle. The children have been so excited while observing the caterpillars we have on the museum table.
The older children have been very interested on learning more about the Continents, and some of them have been researching on a specific Continent. They presented their researches to their classmates with great pride.
We would like to welcome new friends into our classroom this month, it’s so fun to see how our class continues to grow. Each child brings their own uniqueness into the environment and makes it a wonderful place to spend our days. Welcome to all the new families!
