NOVEMBER 2022
Peek Inside our Children’s House Community
Hello Bobcat families,
Hello Bobcat Families,
November is the month of Gratitude. The time to celebrate and give thanks for what we are grateful for. For our families and friends. For having each other. For togetherness. At the Bobcat Classroom, every day we have lunch together as a family and before we eat our delicious and healthy lunch, we give thanks. I will share with you our beautiful poem that we recite in both languages, English and Spanish.
Thank you for the Sun
Thank you for the trees,
Thank you for the food,
Thank you for me.
Bon appetit, we may eat.
Gracias por el sol,
Gracias por los arboles,
Gracias por la comida,
Gracias por mi.
Buen provecho, podemos comer.
During circle time, we have been practicing singing “head, shoulders, knees and toes” in Spanish 😊 Cabeza, Hombros, Rodillas Y Pies (2019) | Canciones Infantiles
“As well as Open and shut” Abre Cierra | Canciones Infantiles
Just a few reminders:
-As the weather is getting colder, children are wearing jackets. Please label them with your child’s name and take them home on daily basis.
-The children need to bring back their clear plastic work folder after they empty it out at home once a month.
-Our social is on December 8th, I can’t wait to see you there and have a great time together. We will have a potluck Italian dinner. Lookout for the sign-up genius e-mail
Thank you, as always, for all your support!
Ms. Hany and Ms. Joselyne

CACTUS WREN
Dear Cactus Wren Families,
It has been an exciting November and we hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This month the children have been learning about the life cycle of a seed. The growth of the different vegetables in the garden are a delight for all the children to observe and help to care for. As the Fall has become could’ve, we have also been learning about the different seasons, their characteristics and where they change on our calendar.
Each morning circle, we change the date of our class calendar and learn about a different discovery; such as animals, land and water forms, and plants. Recently, we have learned about mountains, octopuses, dolphins, and sharks. The children are so curious about the world around them and it is amazing to listen to their observations and questions.
We are also enjoying singing songs together and a favorite is Los Pollítos Dicen. Below are the lyrics to the song.
Los pollitos, dicen
Pío, pío, pío
Cuando tienen hambre
Cuando tienen frío
La Gallina busca
El maíz y el trigo
Les de la comida
Y les presta abrigo
Bajo sus dos alas
Acurrucaditos
Hasta el otro día
Duermen los pollítos
Repeat three times and end with
Cuando se levantan
Dicen mamacita,
Tengo mucha hambre
Dame lombricitas
It has been an amazing November and we look forward to all the new discoveries and explorations December will bring! Thank you families for you time and support and for letting us be a part of your child’s journey.
Warmly,
Ms. Laura & Ms. Annette

Hello Gray Fox families,
Hello Gray Fox families,
What a wonderful month it's been in the classroom! Fall is in full swing and we can’t get enough of this weather! First off, I want to thank you all for being so vigilant in making sure that your child’s jackets and clothing are labeled. It is so crucial that your child’s belongings are labeled to ensure that they go home daily to their appropriate homes.
Secondly, we had so much fun dissecting, carving and painting pumpkins! It is such a fun, sensorial experience for the children to get to know each part and its life cycle from seedling to harvest. We learned about the skin, meat and fibers, seeds and everything in between! The children worked as a wonderful team to design and paint the pumpkins and were very pleased with the results when we lit a candle inside and huddled inside of the bathroom’s darkness to see them in all their glory.
Additionally, we had plenty of extra apples from last month's snack and with leftovers brings great topic discussions on food waste and utilizing the things we have to brainstorm recipes and explore some adventurous eating. The children got to make a wonderful homemade applesauce in which the holiday smells permeated the environment as we worked over a period of a few days.
Furthermore, we discussed what it means to be “thankful” and share our own thanks. We got to share so many beautiful things such as, “I am thankful for my dinners my parents make. The time I get to spend with my family and friends”, and so on. November is a great way to remind children of the little serendipities and things that occur in our daily lives that we feel thankful for not only seasonally, but throughout the year.
As the holidays are in full swing, this is a reminder that we do not hone in on fantasy or religious concepts at school, more so a season to enjoy with our families in whatever fashion or way that may be. Please continue to practice garment application and hanging as the days get colder to ensure the utmost success of your child in the classroom.
Happy holidays,
Ms. Kayla and Ms. Edna

JACKRABBIT
Hello Dear Jackrabbit Families,
We hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed the Holiday Weekend. We are grateful for each and one of you.
Creo’s charity event was a huge success and we would like to thank you again for all your help. We can’t thank enough our classroom volunteer parents, Marie, Nichole and Alexis. Our classroom project (cornhole) turned out amazing, the children enjoyed being part of the painting process. Thank you also for all your contributions for our classroom basket. Thanks to everyone’s help, Creo was able to raise funds to continue offering scholarships to children 5 years old and below.
We hope everyone enjoyed their observations and conferences and getting a glimpse of your child’s day and their community, the Jackrabbit classroom. We continue to work on Grace and Courtesy lessons and it’s nice to observe children being kind and respectful with each other, saying excuse me while passing by, using quiet voices, walking around the rugs, etc.
