The greatest development is achieved during the first years of life, and therefore it is then that the greatest care should be taken. If this is done, then the child does not become a burden; he will reveal himself as the greatest marvel of nature.

Catie Mathews

elementary education support assistant

Catie was raised in pure Michigan (Go Blue!) where she loved working with kids - whether it was nannying, coaching, tutoring, substituting, teaching second grade or working at daycares, every job she had revolved around working with children. She obtained her teaching degree at Madonna University and a few years after graduating moved to Chicago. She was enamored with the city’s diversity, vibrant culture, delicious food and the energy she felt while exploring. After living in Chicago for about 10 years her husband said, “you can’t shovel sunshine” and she and her family moved to sunny Arizona.

Catie has 2 daughters and she knew early on she wanted to gift them a Montessori education - she believed this would instill confidence, foster independence and nurture their whole brain. Catie was lucky enough to work at her girl’s Montessori school for 3.5 years and feels eternally grateful for all her students taught her. There are countless reasons why she’s passionate about working with kids, but a standout for her is their authenticity. In her spare time Catie enjoys meditating, traveling with her family and spending quality time with the people she loves most.
