Dear Parents,

We had a great week coming back from the break. Children transitioned well to their work and routines.  We could see our Science, Biology, Geography, Math, Language with Art and Music sections being used well throughout the week. We are encouraging the children to use their journals to log everything on a daily bases. We are reinforcing how beneficial it can be to log their work, emotions / feelings, and anything they learned new and reflected on.

Our Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank Box is getting full! The students are excited and waiting patiently for the day to arrive when they can contribute all these items to our local community. Thank you for your generosity and supporting our community service effort!

We have 4 new fish in our classroom. The students participated in voting on names. On Monday we will decide on the names, which may be tricky as three of them look identical!  I look forward to hearing ideas on how we may tell them apart.  Ask you child which name is their favorite!

This week Mr. Denis introduced the song " Swinging On a Star". Feel free to sing with your children over the weekend!

This group has been working a lot on Maps and Pins ( study of Continents, Countries and States). This interest peaked their curiosity to look into different types of flags and parts of a flag.
